Vitex agnus-castus (often referred to as Vitex) is an herb native to the Mediterranean countries. The "popularity" of the herb has increased significantly in recent years as there are over 300 publications in the international literature on its mechanism of action. Vitex berries used in the preparation of the extract contain a wide range of phytochemically active substances, including flavonoids and a group of chemicals belonging to the iridoids, which include aucubin and agnuside.
Lamberts Vitex is a titrated extract equivalent to 1000mg of dried Vitex nuts and like all Lamberts formulations is manufactured in the UK according to strict GMP (Pharmaceutical GMP) standards.
Vitex can be used in conjunction with other nutritional supplements such as Vitamin B6 and Evening Primrose Oil.
